The Warranty Window

The record outlives the job by a decade.

If you offer a 1-2-10 warranty, you have extended your own exposure to ten years past substantial completion. North Carolina has no right-to-cure statute, so a homeowner is not required to give you a shot at fixing something before filing.

Ten years out, the argument is almost never about whether something is wrong. It is about when it happened and what was there before. A dated set of images from the week in question answers that faster and more cheaply than anything else you own.

Build Record — $349/mo

One visit per month. Aerial from fixed repeat waypoints, low-altitude exterior elevations, a dated folder the homeowner can open and share, completion time-lapse, and a draw-ready geotagged photo set.

Your files are yours from the day they land, and yours to keep forever. Clearpoint holds its own indexed copy for the agreement plus 12 months.

Build Record Plus — $599/mo MOST COMMON

Every two weeks. Everything in Build Record, plus a pre-pour aerial, the dry-in envelope flight included at no additional cost, and ten-year file retention.

Your files are yours from the day they land, and yours to keep forever. Clearpoint also holds its own indexed copy for 10 years — so if a homeowner calls in 2034 and your copy is gone, name the date and you get the file.

Standalone · Not A Plan

Dry-In Envelope Flight — $495

One visit, no contract. The single highest-risk moment of the build, documented before it is covered. Included at no additional cost in Build Record Plus.

Building More Than Two At A Time

Per home, per month. The price drops because the drive does not change — the second house on the same trip costs me a battery, not an afternoon.

Three or more homes inside the same development are flown on one trip, so the 6-or-more rate applies from the third house. Rates hold as long as the count does; add a house and the whole group re-rates down at the next billing cycle.

A build runs eight to fourteen months. One signature is a $2,800–$8,400 contract, and on cost-plus it sits alongside the dumpster and the porta-john rather than coming out of your margin.
